This music has a nice, calming effect on the listener. It is easy listening and makes you paint pictures in your mind. It is quite nice. There were a couple of timing errors and I wish the ending was not so sudden, but other than that, it's a nice smooth piece of music.

I Will Fight No More Forever by Kerri Powles

Admirable try, the use of these particular instruments helps the listeners to form pictures in their minds.
In my opinion, though, the use of 5 tone scale is not proper when composing something about American Indians. And maybe if you used shorter attack and less sustain the melody could be more present (It is a bit lost behind the sounds).
It is a nice piece, smooth and relaxing.

Many thanks for your feedback, I've taken on board your views and appreciate honesty. I am still learning about production, so it's a work in progress. I agree it's a safe song, but it is what it is, just a song. I'll put up a few more in different genres soon, and would really value your thoughts and opinions. Regards, Mark.

Set Me Free by mark smith

Hmm, nice! It reminds me of the sound of "the beatles" when they were starting out. Nicely performed, (good job, since you are playing everything). The sound of the recording is not perfect (I wish I could hear the kick a little more, for example) but still decent.
I just thought it is too "safe". There is no surprises in the song, the lyrics, the solo... nothing to excite me.
On the other hand of course, it is an oldies type song, and that is the way songs were written back then.
All in all, it is a nice song, true to its origins and with that familiar sound to it, that makes you feel comfortable, while listening to it.

Thank you for the thoughts, it was intended to be a little dirty sounding. I wanted to emulate the analog sound I miss so much.

I like this type of music, and I like the song. The vocals are good, lyrics are fitting to this genre.
The sound quality, I am afraid, is not good. I can hardly make out the backing vocals and the guitars are too "dirty" (sorry for the lack of better words, English is not my language) and there is a buzz somewhere in there...
In the end I do like the song, It reminded me of the songs I used to listen to when I was growing up. I would really like to listen to a better recording of it, though.

This is interesting... Some classical influence there. It sounds like it would be a good piece for a movie (Colin Firth could be in it, too :) )
I only listened to it twice but I don't get the structure. Maybe I need to listen again.
Other than that, it has a pleasant feel to it and I honestly like most of the musical ideas you put in there.

Save Me (from my friends) by Lee Showman

Really fun song. It got me smiling through the entire song. I liked the sound of the guitar. The song is put together just the right way, no extreme surprises (that can be good or bad depending on what you want. For this song, I think it is good)
I don't know if it's the recording or my speakers but I couldn't get the bass presence as much as I wanted (bass guitar and kick). And maybe you should consider a higher key. I think you can easily pull it off (your voice sounded stressed in some of the low notes). But that is mostly performance issues.
The song itself is very nice and good fun!!

Waiting in the Rain by Dazeofgrace

A beautiful song and an amazing performance. Wow!I love that voice. The piano playing is very good too. Maybe you should try to enrich it with a few more instruments to have more dramatic crescendos.

This song is a sweet, and mellow way of expressing the love you feel. No drama, just confidence. It is beautiful and very well performed. Well done.

Many thanks for your wonderful review and rating. It has for the longest time been one of my dreams to have a live orchestra do my music, but sadly, as yet I do not have the means or the finances to achieve such a goal. Who knows...one Day! In the meantime I have been saving my pennies for a more modern Yamaha work station keyboard, but this is a long way off yet.

Best Wishes and Good luck for the future...?

Casanova by Kerri Powles

The song is lovely, smooth and sentimental, really puts you in a romantic mood. The only thing I have to say (and I guess that is the drawback of using just one instrument) is that certain aspects of the music, such as the main melody and some of the harmony, are hard to make out sometimes. I know the answer to that has been mentioned before, but I really think that using live instruments will bring out a magnificence to your beautiful music. If you ever have the means, you should do it.
