John David Coupland

New All
Ripples in time

Awesome song. For being self taught you nailed the genre. You played this well... I loved the strings and the percussion.
The melody was quite soothing and moved it along nicely.

Beautiful song!

Lightning

This reminds me of a 60's type song, maybe something the Ventures would have done with the reverb setting.
Nice composition and you played it well.
This took me back to the great 60's!
Super!

The first LP I ever bought was by the Shadows.

Here's to the end of an old song.

Quite a sad song...you told it, subg it very well. I liked the arrangement...the lyrics and chorus.
You played it very well and the music fit it so well.

Great job!

I suppose it reflects the unenviable position in which Scotland finds itself, i.e. physically attached to the most aggressive nation under the Sun, England.

Blackbird singing Hallelujah.

Very nice piece. You made it into a soothing, but uplifting song. I maybe would have brought the melody up in the middle, like a middle eight to make it more interesting.
But is a very nice composition.

I wrote this by listening to a classical composer and then trying to write something in their style. I then used the composer's name to create the first musical phrase. Blackbird singing hallelujah started life as Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

Looking for the happy end.

Great job on this...liked the chord structure and the picking. You played it quite well.

It is likely one of my favs of yours. Keep the writing up. You are quite talented!

Took the shore road

I liked this guitar instrumental. The melody was good and you played it quite well. It has the foundation to become a very good piece I think if you added some vibrato and held some of the notes longer with some pauses for suspense.

Maybe even add a second counter melody in places that I can hear.

I really like the song and would like to hear more of these types of instrumentals from you. Very nice!

Very nice playing - a very classic blues sequence of chords. The tune was brought out over the accompanying underlay.Good luck in the competition.
