This just did not sound believable to me as a guitar. Being a guitar player, I would not have played, strummed the chords, played the notes this way.

Yes. This didn't really work. I was using a digital instrument.

The progression is very good and the arrangement is nice, however, being a guitarist I must say that the guitar patch is not very believable and sounds more like a piano blended with a harpsichord. The music is great and sounds very good other than the patch.

The guitar playing here seems forced, and without a natural flow. This does not work for me. I can hear the player is capable, but someow the execution is off, and I cannot give a top score for this.

Some interesting chord progressions here and there. It sounded classical in some spots and modern in other spots. It might sound much better with a better virtual instrument or a real guitar. But that has more to do with budget and not to do with the composer's ability to compose. I think I want to hear more of a memorable melody or a clearly defined mood. But this song varies the rhythm and tempo, and that kept it interesting.

I like the progression and melodies. Not huge fan of the MIDI instrument chosen. May want to select a different instrument and put some backing track.

Thanks for taking the trouble to comment. I wish I could play the guitar well enough to do it myself, but this piece is a bit too hard for me. I like the ideas you offered, thanks.

Described as a bluesy guitar solo this piece seems to be neither. The structure is more jazz like in its complexity and the midi sound is more like a clavichord than a guitar. About half way there are some slow chords which begin to help and trying to think yourself into a guitarist's technique will help you in future compositions.

Thanks for your comment and your advice. I think you are right about it being more jazz than blues. I need to think more carefully about my descriptions
