The weaver is singing his song as he weaves,
The warp and the weft of the tartans and tweeds.
Their colours reflecting our life all around,
'tween shuttle and loom all creation is found.

Blue is for Heaven where God dwells on high,
Brown for the earth where our men one day lie.
Red is for fire and the blood of the slain,
White is for those who bring peace to the land.

The weaver...

Grey is for mist rolling in from the sea,
Green is for pasture and leaf on the tree.
Orange for Sun on a cold winter's morn,
Yellow for flowers that say, 'Winter's gone!'

The weaver...

Pink for the sky in the first light of dawn,
Purple for robes which our princes put on.
Silver and gold by the artisan live,
Black for the heart that will never forgive.
