Here's to the end of an old song,
A song we so gladly have sung.
Here's to the end of an old song,
And a story that's over and done.

Oh what of the battles we've won and we've lost,
Oh tell me in truth was it all worth the cost?
Was it worth all the killing and pibroch's we played,
Now we're serving a king who is foreign and strange.

The pride of the nation is fallen again,
There's anger and shame in the mountains and glens
Our nation was led by a parcel of rogues,
Who sold out their kinsmen to their greatest foes.

Oh where is the Wallace, oh where is the Bruce?
McAlpin, Columba come now for in truth,
The Scotland you loved is in peril once more,
Our heroes are gone, all that's left are the poor.

Artist Notes
From my album, 'Scotland's Story,' this song tells of the dissolution of the Scottish Parliament. This was seen by many as a betrayal by the wealthy merchants. With the 'Neverendum,' hanging over Scottish politics it would still have many advocates today.
